Another personal project I undertook to document our trip around Australia. My partner and I quit our full time jobs at the end of 2019 to do the big lap in ‘Alice’, our 2013 Ford Ranger, but we didn’t get terribly far before the country, and ultimately the world, turned to s**t.
We left Sydney, heading for Tasmania when the bushfires were raging along the NSW south coast so we hightailed it to Melbourne the day before the ferry ride. We spent an amazing month travelling Tassie but when we arrived back on the mainland the floods were starting.
We skipped the south coast again and headed back up to Sydney and the mid-north coast and only made it as far as Brisbane before the borders closed from Covid-19. After almost 18 months of planning and saving we made the decision to cancel the trip and move to the lovely coastal holiday town of South West Rocks.
